Sure, people run VoN, Spies and Wiz-King a lot, but those barely get you halfway there and that's assuming you run them every life; that's a very monotonous life cycle imo to assume everyone runs LoD chain + VoN + Spies + Wiz-King (+ a bit of other fluff to get to 20 / beg for others to pass). If you get a 1 to 2 and can pair it with the appropriate 1, that's one less life to get them all from favor. A +1 tome gives +1 to a stat. A +2 tome gives +2 to a stat.
